Plaka Village | Milos
Updated: Apr 7
Plaka village is the capital of Milos island. It has taken its name from the land on which it was developed which is flat. It has a wonderful Cycladic architecture and very narrow streets (cars not allowed).

On the hill above Plaka, there is the old Castle (Castro), famous for the magical sunset that someone can see from there, which was constructed after the destruction of the ancient city Klima in the 5th century AD. The village has a lot of churches (Church of the Genesis of the Virgin or Korfiatissa, Panagia ton Rodon, and more), a Folk Museum and an Archaeological Museum.
