Little Venice | Mykonos

It is a colorful row of fishers’ houses on the waterfront of Chora (capital of Mykonos island), with their balconies hanging over the sea and their basement doors leading directly to the water.
It is considered one of the most romantic spots in the world, attracting thousands of visitors to watch the sunset. Their construction has been finalized from mid-18th to mid-19th century. They were the houses of rich merchants who were believed to be pirates, an explanation of the proximity of basement doors to the sea directly. Today, some of the houses are shops, bars and galleries.
