Spianada | Corfu
Updated: Apr 7
Spianada is the large area between Corfu town and the old fortress, constructed in 1807, meant to be a copy of rue de Rivoli in Paris.
At one side of the area stands the Royal Palace of Corfu (St. Michele and St. Giorgio Palace), now hosting the Museum of Asian Art. At the other side, and running along Spianada, there is the Liston building. Today, Liston hosts restaurants and cafés and it is one of the main meeting points of the old city.
