Karavomylos Lake | Kefalonia Island
Updated: Nov 9, 2019
The Karavomylos Lake is located 8km from Agia Efimia and just 1km from Sami village on Kefalonia island. Geologists have discovered that the water from the west side of the island ends up here after going underground Kefalonia and mixing up with the fresh water of subsoil.
The lake is a great place to stop, especially for children, just after visiting Melissani Cave and the village of Sami. It is next to the sea and it has ducks, fish and a beautiful church, all forming a unique zone. There is also a tavern which has the lake on one side and the sea on the other side, ideal for a drink or a coffee in the shade.
